"Ascension" original oil painting
"Ascension" original oil painting
If there is something I have learned from physically ascending from valleys to the tops of mountains, it’s that the ascending process takes a lot of work! It’s physically demanding, mentally rigorous, and spiritually symbolic. You have an idea about the overall direction and destination: up; but the specifics of how to actually get there can be foggy. You sometimes grasp for rocks that can’t hold you. You have difficulty finding the right spot for your feet. Maintaining balance can require some creative body maneuvering. Cuts, scrapes, and bruises are all a part of the process. This is true for spiritual progress as well. It's a journey, it's a process, and it can be painful. The ascent may take you to your very brink, but I believe the views from the top are always worth it.
